Special Needs Voyages

DEBBIE STONE (Reg. Manager - Sense) - “It provides a fantastic opportunity for the deaf and blind people we support to experience nature and the elements in totally unique way.”

Special needs voyages for both adults and young people are also an important part of the charity. The Project is the second largest provider of offshore sailing in the UK for people who are deaf, visually impaired, both blind and deaf, have severe learning difficulties or serious illness. The crews take part in all aspects of the voyage from sail handling and helming, to cooking and cleaning.

The Project has established a large network of working relationships with schools, local probation and social services, youth groups, and special needs organisations throughout the UK, who help recruit our trainees.
